A Saturday morning sightseeing in San Fransisco - Union Square, Golden Gate Park, Chinatown and a scenic overview of the city from Twin Peaks. Fisherman's Wharf, busy wiht restaurants and unique stores. Afterwards, we drive our way along highway 101 to Stamford University. There is a shopping mall inside the Uni. We continue our journey to San Jose State university where John's Campus is..
California has one of the most breathtaking coastlines in the world. Our route south on highway 1 through the beach town of Marina features one spectacular view after another. Scheduled stops on the trip include Steinbecks Cannery Row in Montery bay, the Fisherman's wharf, the gallery / restaurant / unique shops district of Carmel-by-the-sea and various vistas along the 17 Mile Drive including Pebble Beach - Championship Golf course and the lone Cypress.

Monday morning we stop to visit Salinas historic old town, main street of oldtown is to enter the world of John Steinbeck nearly 100 years ago and to revisit many of the people and places mentioned in his books. Then we cross the great central valley and Yosemite's glacier=carved grandeur waits us in the Sierras Nevada mountains to the east. Around noon we arrive at beautiful Yosemite National Park. one of the natural wonders of the world, Yosemite Valley has an unforgettable impact on eveyone who visits it.
After breakfast, we continue higher up into the mountains as we cross the Sierra Nevadas via Bear Valley almost 8050ft above sea level. We trail the eastern side of the Sierras up into Lake Tahoe. We enjoy a trip around the azure waters of Lake Tahoe. The washoe Indians have a lovely myth about the creation of Lake Tahoe - it was quite an accident!. The lake, which is shared between California and Nevada, is a wonderful recreation area, surrounded by forested shores and overlooked by magnificent mountains which become a ski resort in th winter time. We also explore the casino at Reno and Carson City - The State Capital of Nevada.
Today we cross back into California and head down to Sacramento. From here we head into the wine country - The Napa Valley wine train, Domaine Carneros and Chandon for wine tasting.
Finally, we are off to Sausolito for lunch at Scoma's -where diners can be seen enjoying seafood and authenic Italian dishes, all served in an intimate victorian setting with a romantic view of San Fransisco and the bay, an Historic landmark on Sausalito's Waterfront.
